Important EPI Calendar Announcement!

Post by Olesia711 » 20 Apr 2023, 16:33

IMPORTANT EPI CALENDAR ANNOUNCEMENT

Susan (and Peanut too) has been the genius behind all the amazing Epi4Dogs “EPI” Annual Calendars for 7 years. She has worked tirelessly and has created masterpieces worthy residing in picture frames! She has made us laugh and smile with some of her funny calendar month creations, while with others, she has brought us to tears treasuring those we had to say goodbye to in the memorial months.
The last few years Susan has been struggling with multiple health issues and unfortunately, although she loves doing the calendars, it is no longer physically possible for her to continue creating these annual EPI calendars.

I personally am beyond sad to realize that Susan needs to step away, but I truly understand. Myself and all of Epi4Dogs would like to thank Susan for all the beautiful memories she created for each and every one of us.

So now Epi4Dogs is at a crossroad with our main fund-raiser, the annual EPI calendar(s). If possible, we would like to continue producing the EPI calendar…. but we will need to recruit some people who would enjoy designing and being creative with EPI pet pictures. If interested, please contact me at: [email protected] . If anyone would like to chat with Susan directly, you can reach her via email [email protected] .

EPI goals are to support and/or collaborate with veterinary EPI research and researchers, and to promote EPI awareness by educating the general public, pet owners, pet organizations, rescue and shelter organizations, veterinary schools and veterinarians.”

Zero dollars go to administration fees as Epi4Dogs is a 100% volunteer organization.

It was because of Izzy that Epi4Dogs was started... she was the inspiration. May her legacy of helping others with EPI continue for as long as needed.........

I am very sorry to read this. Susan has done a wonderful job with making each calendar come to life with our loved ones. Mine happen to all be memorials to Mickey. Thanks so much Susan, Peanut and Butterbean, who was around when Mick was.

thanks Jill,

I know this was emotionally a hard decision for Susan, cause she really enjoyed creating the calendars, which was very evident from the work she did, but when you can't do something because of health, there is just no way to get around it. I was even amazed that she was able to do last year's calendars.

I too have treasured calendars from every year.... that i am so thankful for!

I'm really sorry to hear that you're stepping away from the calanders, Susan. You do such an awesome job, and you make our beautiful animals shine.
I don't know if I can help, but if I can, let me know.
Montgomery was born 20 March 2012. He is SUPPOSED to be eating a home-cooked diet, but refuses. He eats Purina True Instinct Grain-Free Chicken and whatever chicken-based tinned food we can entice him with. Nine pounds of pure stubbornness. He gets two size 0 capsules of Enzyme Diane at each meal and one size 4 capsule of Tylosin three times daily. Sometimes he gets Petromalt. He's our little Spitfire, and when he purrs you KNOW he's got a real Merlin engine. Lately, he's taken to giving hugs.

I too am sad, Susan is an integral part of EPI4DOGS and will always be, and the calendars have become her signature, but life takes us in different directions.

All my love Susan

Each year when I see the calendars, I am just amazed at Susan's creativity and talent. Her work allows us to see and enjoy the spirit and essence of our dogs shining through the photos. I also realize that we have shared Susan's heart and love shining through each photo. Thank you, Susan, for the years of dedication you have given us and for the wonderful tribute to our dogs you have provided.

Sending light and love and many many hugs!

Its also really wonderful to see all the beautiful animals that we hear about in this forum. So obviously a labour of love, and so much anticipated each year.

I am very sorry to hear about this. This is my first calendar, as I am quite new to all of this; but I think it's great. Calendars are very well designed.

If I had any artistic or graphic design skills at all, I would offer to help. But alas, I do not.

Wishing Susan all the best!
Chance was my 4 legged soul mate. My mobility assist service dog. Pure yellow Lab, 75 lbs. After struggling with weight all his life, finally dx with EPI. cTLI < 1, folate and B12 very low. Fed Raw. Maintained with Creon, Garden of Life probiotic and intermittent calcium bentonite clay. (Tylosin was a big nightmare for him)!

Rylee is Chance's successor; also pure Yellow/Fox red Lab. Started with symptoms at 8 weeks. At 6 months of age, also prescribed Creon due to suspected EPI (due to passing large amounts of undigested food). Currently suspected of blockages in pancreatic ducts. She is maintained VERY nicely on Creon and probiotics. Also raw fed.
