Montgomery's half-sister-cousin-auntie, Sylvia Rose...I think I posted about her before, if not, I now know what is causing her diarrhea. She has an allergy which requires her to be on an anthistamine at times. She was on it until we had a couple of good killing frosts. When I took her off it, her diarrhea cleared up. She's had to go back on it, though, because she's back to barbering, although just a half-dose. How long do I have to wait between giving slippery elm and giving the chlortripelon (sp?), and which should I give first? Much like her little baby half-brother-cousin-nephew, probiotics do nothing for this little monster.
Here she is demosntrating how large the cabbage was. She's eight pounds of fury.

Slippery Elm For Non-EPI Cat?
Montgomery was born 20 March 2012. He eats extra lean ground chicken, lean ground pork and lean ground beef completed with Alnutrin and freeze-dried chicken liver, with hard-cooked egg. He gets two size zero capsules of Enzyme Diane's enzymes at each of his six meals, and a size four capsule of Tylan three times a day. He's a fierce little Spitfire with a roaring Merlin engine.

Re: Slippery Elm For Non-EPI Cat?
she is quite the cutie!
Okay.... in this case (because she is a cat and so much smaller... every little bit counts) so.... definitely give the SLippery ELm away from the chlor-tripolon. Give 2 hours away from one another. If you do this, it doesn't matter which one you give first........
hope this helps !

Olesia, was owned by Izzy, a 35lb Spanish Water Dog (SWD), Diagnosed at 1.5 years old - TLI results 1.. Izzy passed away on February 13, 2020 at 15 years old. She lived with EPI for 13+1/2 years. It was because of Izzy that Epi4Dogs was started... she was the inspiration. May her legacy of helping others with EPI continue for as long as needed.........

Thanks, that does help. Now I just have to figure out how to get it into her without being bitten.

Re: Slippery Elm For Non-EPI Cat?
maybe mix it in something Montgomery likes? cooked chicken liver? warm milk/cream? sardines?

Re: Slippery Elm For Non-EPI Cat?
Montgomery stole a mouthful of sardine off Dusty and Rosey and spent a miserable afternoon gurgling away in his sleepy cube...
Sylvia Rose can sniff anything out, and she's dainty when it comes to meals, too. She never finishes her plate, no matter how much she likes something. I'm either going to have to make a paste and quickly stick it in her mouth, or rub it on the back of her hand so she licks it off.

Find me someone here who hasn't been made creative by their furballs.
When Sylvia Rose was four weeks old her favourite way to say hello was to put her claws out and spit in your face. She's sixteen and hasn't changed. They're all characters and I'm glad they make us think.
