BUT...you gave half tsp of enzymes Diane per meal? Roughly 50,000 lipase units per meal.
If the enteric coated capsule dose is half of the enzyme Diane dose (because of the enteric coating), then Eddie might actually need up to a full capsule (25,000) per meal??? It seems like a lot though, for a little guy.

You all are correct. What happened in my brain is I also imported some Creon 10,000. Assuming I would be giving a capsule per meal. At 50 pack it would last 25 days. I got my medication mixed up. At 50 days it makes it a lot more cost effective than.
On to the lipase math. 8X is 104,000 per teaspoon. He gets a little more than half of teaspoon, let's say 60000. When we were doing the coated capsules it was about 1/8-1/4th of a teaspoon. 13-25000. It's really hard to measure this tiny amounts into grams and be accurate. He will need somewhere pretty half to one capsule per meal. It has been almost 48 hours and everything seems to be going well. I think his transit time has been about 16 hours, so we should be into the micrazym at this point.

My brain said---1/2 X 2 meals=1 per day, and 50 capsules at $42.00ish means the box lasts 50 days.
I've never used 8X, so maybe that's where I'm confused. It's OK. There are better things to focus on than my math skills.

Now there's Nina. 5 year old GSD. TLI 1.0 B12 323. We are still tweaking her routine, and getting lots of help from the forum. She is klutzy and goofy, and we love her dearly, too.

Ah okay, so your working with Creon and Micrazym on the brain. That makes more sense.
In a way it's good to have both. Compare to see if Micrazym is as good as Creon

Even at 1 capsule a meal. The cost isn't that much more. It might be worth it, if it works. The nice thing is it comes from Amazon so usually a day or two shipping time. Enzyme Diane is usually pretty quick but not that fast. With them being coated pellets, hot and cold shouldn't affect it. Sometimes we feed Eddie the fresh pet, farmer's dog, refrigerator food. Of course hopefully not having to worry about them being moistened properly for the mouth sores is a huge plus.
One thing I am going to try once we get everything established is grain. I am curious to see if the coated pellets are affected by grain as much.

Sorry for the delayed updates. Life has been incredibly tough. We had to send Emma down the rainbow road. He cancer progressed too fast. It ended up completely collapsing one of her lungs. After losing Emma and Maggie in the same month it has been tough to find any energy.
Eddie is doing well though. After a lot of trial and error we have discovered one 25000 micrazym per 3/4th cup is the perfect amount.
We have also found out giving the whole capsule, not so good. Opening it up and sprinkling it on his food works much better.

Olesia, was owned by Izzy, a 35lb Spanish Water Dog (SWD), Diagnosed at 1.5 years old - TLI results 1.. Izzy passed away on February 13, 2020 at 15 years old. She lived with EPI for 13+1/2 years. It was because of Izzy that Epi4Dogs was started... she was the inspiration. May her legacy of helping others with EPI continue for as long as needed.........

We did also try the Creon 10000. 2 creon 10000 seems to work the same as 1 micrazym. I am not sure if Eddie only needs 20000 and it's too hard to measure out 4/5th of the micrazym.
I know some people said that Creon is stronger overall. That could also be a reason. I am just glad we got the dosage figured out.
