Buying B12 on Amazon

Post by Olesia711 » 21 Mar 2025, 11:06

Hi everyone,

ALWAYS be careful and PLEASE do your own research when purchasing OTC supplements from Amazon. No matter what the label "claims" do your research to make sure it contains what it says it does! And the reviews on Amazon are not always real either.

I belong to Consumer Labs that is an independent 3rd party company that researches online supplements. And they found multiple products on Amazon selling "Methylcobalamin B12" do not contain what they claim. Two companies had no B12 in them: Monoherb capsules, Nexdia pills. CFILIHTC/BHRC contained on 1% of B12, Raw Science only contained 49% of what they claimed.
Vitacost, Nutricost, Doctor's Recipe, and NOW, were some of the companies that were reviewed and thankfully did contain the claimed amount

If you are going to use Methylcobalamin B12 for your pet, please know that we recommend Wonderlabs B12 "Pet Factor" (or Intrinsic Factor) because Epi4Dogs has worked directly with the Wonderlabs company to make sure their B12 product is quality.

The takeaway is to ALWAYS be careful when buying supplements online. Don't believe everything you read and do your own research.

Good advice Olesia. Thanks. Another thing is if you are buying from Amazon make sure it is not from a 3rd party seller. I just looked at Wonderlabs Pet Factor B12 and it says:
Ships by Amazon
Sold by Wonderlabs
That way you know Amazon is a authorized seller for Wonderlabs.
You can also call a company and ask if Amazon is an authorized seller.
