You sprinkle the enzyme on the food, add a little room temperature water to it and stir to make sure the enzymes coat the kibble. Incubate for 15-20 minutes. Stir again and serve. If the food is homemade with plenty of moisture you don't need to add additional water.
You can email Hannah and tell her the situstion and she will be able to help or point you in the right direction.

Thank you for the enzyme instructions!

Regarding a vitamin supplement for home made food, has anyone tried Annamaet Enhance Raw & Home Cook Meal Dog Vitamin & Mineral Supplement?

Regarding her TLI - it was 3.2.

I reviewed the presentation on the site, and I saw that dog s with TLI in a range between 2.2 and 5 are recommended for retesting in 30 days. Has anyone with a TLI around 3.2 ever seen an increase during that 30 day window? I'd love to hold out hope that she may not have EPI, but I suspect that isn't likely.

Also - Cookie has not yet had her final 4 month puppy vaccines nor is she spayed. Is there a timeline that is best for either of these milestones given her diabetes and EPI?

Please read this update as of March 2024 on the Tli:
https://epi4dogs.com/tli-universal-testing/
as the parameters have changed.

I think once your pup is stabilized for Epi meaning consistent good poops, at a good weight and hood health you could talk about the right time to spay.
Someone will chime in on vaccines I am sure. I wouldn't do it if Cookie is not in good healthy shape.

Cookie has never had an issue with poops. I assume because we are early in the EPI disease cycle given how young she is, so the one thing I am not battling right now is correcting the condition of her poops.

Thank you for the tip about Annamaet Enhance. I did come across that product as I was searching. Knowing this works for you helps so much!

just re-reading some of the posts here..... and typically once a dog is diagnosed via the TLI blood test as positive for EPI.... there is not need to re-test.
(and yes.... according to the revised TLI test values, your dog is an EPI dog

HOWEVER..... because Cookie is a puppy...... something about about puppies testing positive for EPI.....although most likely Cookie really does have EPI, because she is a puppy please do rerun the TLI test.....at 6 months or a few months later ... just to confirm. I am so sorry to be dumping this extra expense on you...... but better to confirm with a puppy than not.

Oh no! You, and everyone, have been nothing but helpful. I'll take the expense if there is a chance the test result may be different as she approaches one year. We are moving forward assuming she is an EPI pup and that the test won't be different. but, if it is, well, that will be a nice surprise -- the primary benefit being not having to figure out food to successfully manage both conditions rather than one and a little less worry.

The good news is that we started her enzymes, and her poop still looks good. Since her poop was already good, I wasn't sure what to expect. And, she happily consumes them with her food. We are using turkey broth (unsalted, unseasoned) to incubate them.

Question ---- I read that if you give enzymes that are not needed, they will be passed as waste; however, I did also read that if you give enzymes that are not needed, the dog can become dependent.

Do you know how long it would take for a dog to become dependent if the enzymes were not needed. I'd hate to make her dependent if by some small chance she doesn't have EPI.

yep.... giving enzymes when not needed will not hurt UNLESS you give them long term... like a year.... and the dog doesn't have EPI and doesn't need enzymes.... Giving them long term is when you can cause an issue.
