Re: Enzymes given in capsules

Great news! It is half the battle when they like the food.....even with enzymes on it! Let us know how she does.

Also, I wanted to mention that I have always ordered the empty gel caps from Wonderlabs. They come in different sizes.

Re: Back to Square One with Santo

You have gotten great advice. I just wanted to put in my vote for the log/journal. It always saves our sanity, even after all these years. There is something about seeing things in writing that helps us to see patterns that we might have missed if we just kept them in our heads. My head has way too ...

Re: Testing with a photo , to cheer people up.

Thank you, Patsy. What a beautiful picture of Marti!

We never know what challenges our pups are going to bring us.

Thank you for sharing that beautiful photo.

Re: Update on Ruby

What a tough time you and Ruby have been through! Sometimes, less is more, and doing nothing (or letting things rest) is what is required, but oh that is so hard to do because we want to fix things and see results. It always amazes me how the wisdom of the Universe works through people and gives us ...

Re: Advice before testing for epi

Yes, the worst is not knowing. Once you have a diagnosis, you can proceed. If your pup has EPI, you can treat and manage it. There are many knowledgeable and generous people here to help you.

Please let us know the results. Hang in there.

Re: How do your dogs react when eating food with enzymes?

Our German Shepherd, Kolby, hated the enzymes. He would look at his bowl, then look up at us as if we were trying to poison him, then walk away from his food. We did everything to entice him. Giving him a flat plate helped the most. Eventually, he got used to them and even went through periods when ...

Re: Decreased water intake- is this okay?

A warm welcome to you and your pup. So glad you found us. As the others have said, it is not typical for dogs with EPI to drink less water, especially at diagnosis. Most of us have witnessed the opposite reaction. Is your pup urinating normally? I would have her checked out by your vet to make sure ...

Re: Hair loss in a dog with EPI

Hello Susan, A warm welcome to you and your "Awesome" pup! Yes, many dogs "blow their coat" when they are first diagnosed. My German Shepherd, Kolby, strangely enough did not lose his coat. He did everything else! Glad to hear Awesome is gaining weight and doing well. Hopefully, ...

Re: Weight gain

It took Kolby almost a year to get to his target weight. He gained very slowly, but like Stacie said about Dizzy, once we got the B12 right, he began to gain steadily. He has had EPI for 8 years and has been at 85 pounds for 7 of those years. Some dogs are slow, but steady, gainers. Hang in there. B...
