Re: Won't eat and appears to have an upset tummy

Thank you so much for reporting in today with what is going on. First.... going by your last post and the condition of the poo.... it sounds like the Tylan is indeed starting to address the (most likely) out of control SID ...... PHEW!!!! Next.... we mentioned in one of the earlier posts to try incr...

Re: Won't eat and appears to have an upset tummy

i too am wondering how he is doing. In the meantime.... have you tried giving slippery elm powder??? and did you get more Tylan? enzymes will last LONG after the expiration date..... even a year later, the only thing that may happen is that they may not be as potent s they previously were. However, ...

Re: Golden Retriever puppy diagnosed with EPI

Hi Franz123..... you are very correct.... EPI was indeed considered a German SHepherd condition for years. My dog is a Spanish Water Dog (SWD) and we have that dubious claim to fame of being the first ( recorded ) Spanish Water Dog to ever be diagnosed with EPI. The funny thing is after i went publi...

Re: Worried about Sophie, 2 yr.old Sheltie with EPI

Oh Sara, my heart is just breaking for you....it is SOOOooooo hard to be a caregiver for a loved one with dementia or Alzheimers. My mom lived with us and had dementia in her final years and it can be very very wearing......... and then they really don't understand when you explain and although you ...

Re: Another Finn Update

Since Zeniquin can curb the appetite maybe then call your vet to confirm what you found online and see if there is some way to address it???

I feel so bad for you as you (and Finn) have certainly been thru so much............

Re: Golden Retriever puppy diagnosed with EPI

WOW!!!! that is a great report. Sounds like the Tylan is working and now all you have to do is find the right food. My guess is that is why things have improved but are not yet perfect. The current food/diet, although a good food is just not the most agreeable diet with Charley's EPI and is perpetua...

Re: Sorry for private messages regarding Sophie's stained teeth!

Hi Anita, Not a problem and no need to apologize, ever! I hope someone who experienced the same was able to help you out. My EPI gals' teeth were bright white for years- -and she has been on enzymes since she was 1+1/2 year old..... but then just a few years ago (she'll be 14 years old this year) th...

If anyone is interested in reading about these extra digestive enzymes..... we have an article on gastric lipase on the research page: https://epi4dogs.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Gastric-Lipase-research.pdf Gastric lipase of the dog is located in cardiac, fundic, and antral mucosae (in the stoma...
