Re: Newbie to EPI

Hello, Meredith. A warm welcome to you and Thunder. So many of us have been where you are. Once you have a correct diagnosis, you will be able to proceed with confidence. If it is EPI , there are many people here to let you know that it is manageable and our dogs thrived and/or are thriving while th...

Re: Pan-tenex enzyme

Hi, Cheryl I also would recommend Enzyme Diane's enzymes. She has an excellent product and is wonderful to work with. I'm also wondering about the weight management food. The thinking has changed with regard to EPI and Low Fat. It is now recommended that EPI dogs have low fiber, but not necessarily ...

Re: Concerned and discouraged

Congratulations on the weight gain. Yay Mochi. I agree with Olesia that you should try giving him two Wonderlabs B12 pills per day. We did this with Kolby and it turned him around on the weight gain and on his appetite. However, I also agree that you might want to test him for diabetes just to rule ...

Re: New diagnosis - but he hates the enzyme

Hello Kat. Welcome to you and Oliver. Some dogs don't even notice the enzymes on their food.....our dog was not one of them. Kolby HATED the enzymes. But eventually, he got hungry enough and we used some of the tricks suggested. We discovered the flat plate accidentally because we were feeding him b...

Re: Denver co-have pancreas, creon etc

I am so sorry for your loss. It is always too soon to say goodbye to our beloved companions. They are so much a part of our lives.

Thank you, too, for your generous offer of supplies.

You are in our thoughts as you go through this difficult time.

Re: Fingers crossed for Oliver

We definitely have our fingers crossed for Oliver. That was quite a great update. Glad to hear he is doing so well. We could never get below 1/4 teaspoon of tylan with Kolby. He was on it for life. But many dogs are able to do without it. Hope Oliver is one of them. Let us know.

Re: I'm Needing All the Advice I Can Get!!!

Dear Janie, I am so sorry you are going through all this. You are in good hands with Olesia, Jill, Pam and those who have experience with IBD or IBS. Our Kolby had EPI and was eventually stable on Diane's enzymes, but it took us quite a while to find a food that would agree with him. And like you, w...

Re: New Diagnosis

Congratulations on the weight gain! Kylie is a stunner. She may have reached a plateau as far as eating the extra food. But keep an eye on it. One thing that might help you is keeping a log/journal each day. Record everything she eats, the amounts and the resulting poos as well as her behavior aroun...
