Re: Sport Dog Elite

Fuzzy became intolerant of any form of chicken, then any form of poultry. So I was using the sled dog formula. It was like the herding but more calories, bc he needs more to maintain weight. They discontinued it. I tried Inukshuk Professional Performance Marine 25. It does have barley, oatmeal and b...

Re: New EPI diagnosis, Felina does not like the enzymes

" Felina also seems pretty dumpy and bummed after she eats them- did you ever notice that with Fuzzy?" He does actually but I can't be sure if it's the enzymes or the fact I outwitted him. I noticed less of "dumpy & bummed" if I add the enzymes to the canned let it sit...

Re: New EPI diagnosis, Felina does not like the enzymes

Fuzzy is a jerk. He loved to give me nervous breakdowns at the start because he didn't want dog food (he had previously been fed raw) his ideal weight is 175lbs. So you can imagine how he looks when he decides not to eat and how much he HAS to eat. Many tips given to me helped for awhile: the flat p...

Re: Helping humans too

you wouldn't be on this site, if Fuzzy didn't have EPI and this guy would never have gotten the proper diagnosis and feeling better without you recognizing the symptoms! Yes, isn't it strange how life is sometimes :) Rose told me the pain is worse than any period pain when SIBO strikes Funny you me...

Helping humans too

This site has of course been a life saver for many pets but now it's helped a person. I thought i'd share this. So I am a mmo gamer. In my guild we have a lovely gentleman who suffered from chronic disease for years. Dr. after Dr. but him on all sorts of medication diagnosed him with IBD and all sor...

Re: Pre and Probiotics for SIBO?

Yes it's all trial and error. So many times I was at wits end until I tried something that worked for another dog , and the 5th thing might be what works for Fuzzy. I've got more pictures of Fuzzy's poop than of Fuzzy, I'm sure. This site is priceless

Re: Pre and Probiotics for SIBO?

Soil based organisms were the only thing that worked for Fuzzy, during recovery after diagnosis of EPI and the inevitable SIBO flares. I used the Prescript assist no pea. It is the same as the Pet Flora except more potent. So a large dog needs 1 capsule of the Prescript Assist rather than 3. Fuzzy w...

Re: any experience/advice mixing powdered enzymes with raw food?

Fuzzy was raised on prey model raw from weaning. Once he got the EPI chicken thighs, legs, (bone inclusive) became an issue to digest. Always results in soft poops. He does great on raw blend that contains ground bone, even if it has a small amount of chicken in the blend. I mix his raw with Bil Jac...

Re: Slippery elm not cuttin' it

Hi sorry to hear about your issue. Fuzzy was on slippery elm. It helped him immensely at the beginning of his epi journey to treat sibo and then to keep it at bay and regulate his system. I reduced him to 1/8 a tsp once a day for maintenance once he began to get regular good poops. He weighs 175lbs....

Re: Newbie to EPI

Hello to you and Thunder Please understand it's ok to be angry, upset etc. I am with you on that especially when it hits a young dog. Fuzzy had just turned 2 when he was diagnosed. He went from a large, very active, muscular "puppy", not even full grown, to a sack of bones and oozing sores...
